Editor can't launch - macOS 14.1.2
I can confirm that with an external monitor. I got the error again today. Just disconnecting from the external monitor and launching spine on MacBook screen fixed that. I am back connected to the external monitor and it works.
Just wanted to add that I am also running into this issue, even without an external monitor connected.
I tried deleting settings and other suggested fixes but nothing was working.
Finally, I tried changing my computer's display resolution and opening Spine while using the lower resolution and that seems to have worked. I was then able to change the resolution back to normal and it seems to be working now.
It definitely seems like there is some issue with the graphics initialization on mac. For reference I'm using an MacBook Pro with an M2 Max with 38 core GPU and 32GB ram, running Sonoma 14.5.
samanabo We've fixed this in the Spine launcher version 4.2.17, available now. We're super happy to have this fixed! Thanks a lot for your report and follow ups, that was very helpful to figure out the problem.
Everyone having this problem will need to download the latest Spine launcher and reinstall.
Hello all, sorry to dig up an old thread but I thought it would be better than starting a new one.
I've recently been hitting this error as well. It happened yesterday on Spine 4.2.29, running MacOS 14.4. I upgraded to MacOS 14.5 just in case and that seemed to fix it. However booting up my machine this morning I'm getting the same error again.
I've tried deleting settings but no luck there. Based on the posts above I wondered if it had anything to do with external monitors but unplugging everything has no effect. I've emailed through my spine.log in case that's any use. I have no antivirus on and Spine has been working perfectly until yesterday!
If there's anything I can do to help track this bug down please let me know and I'll be happy to assist.
Just a quick follow up on this one. I needed to work with Spine today, so I opted for a clean install of the software and that fixed it. I will update if the bug comes back, but I guess a clean install is the way to go?
We received your spine.log, thanks. Your Spine launcher is 4.2.03 so the first thing to try is to download and reinstall Spine from your Spine license page. The newer launcher should fix the issue.
Just want to confirm the newest version of Spine fixed this. Had the crash came here updated Spine launcher and all working again. Thanks for maintaining this software so well. Using on macOS 14.5 with external Wacom Cintiq connected as second monitor to M1 Mac mini. FYI.
Hello again, sorry to once again dig this up, but I am still experiencing this error in spine 4.2.35
It still appears to be isolated to when I have a playstation controller plugged in. The issue goes away if the controller is unplugged while spine is starting.
