I don't want latest beta, just 4.1
When switching versions from 4.0 to 4.1, i noticed this happens when I select "Latest 4.1" and it changes to "Latest Beta" after restart.
Ideally i don't even want to do minor updates, i just want 4.1.14 and stay on that version. I saw the option down in the list, and it seems to work to choose it. However, it's displayed as "4.1....." maybe due to my text size/ui size, but might be something you wanna check out.
Hello, you can choose a specific version of Spine by clicking the "Latest beta" version, selecting 4.1.14 from the list below, or by selecting "Other" at the bottom and manually typing in 4.1.14.
You can see more information about choosing a specific Spine version here:
Versioning - Spine User Guide: Choosing a Spine editor version
Do the issues with "Latest beta" being displayed after restart and the version being displayed as "4.1..." still occur if you reinstall Spine from your license page; i.e., go from launcher version 4.1.04 to the latest version (4.1.10)?
Thanks, it works to pick a specific version. But when i choose "Latest stable", it lands at "Latest beta", not sure if it's a bug, but it seems like it I didn't try to reinstall it, but it happens after i restart.
Actually, it is a known issue. Although slightly different from this case, similar reports have been made before:
https://github.com/EsotericSoftware/spine-editor/issues/622
However, we can no longer update Spine Editor 4.0, so the best way to safely change versions is to use the version select box on the Spine launcher window. In that case, the selection will not change to something else.
Perhaps we should add a warning about this. I have created an issue ticket about it:
