  • Export Error

Hi there,

When trying to export my animation, either in MOV or in PNG format, I find that the output simultaneously shows every single frame of the animation, instead of just one at a time.

How can I fix this?

That sounds strange. Can you show a screenshot of what you are seeing?

Sure. The animation features the character flying across the screen diagonally. Here's what a single frame from it is supposed to look like

and here's what it looks like in the export, with all the preceding frames, as you can see, also present in the image.

Here's my export settings, though I also tried exporting as PSD, MOV and AVI to no avail.

For whatever that's worth, I sent the file to a friend and they had no problem exporting it normally.

That is very strange, especially that this is the first time we've heard of this problem with 3.8 and that your friend exported it as expected. That could indicate something that has gone wrong on your computer, with the video hardware being most likely. Are you using the latest graphics drivers for your hardware?

It seems like the buffer used to render each frame is not being cleared. We definitely clear it, else everyone would have this problem, so maybe for some reason it is not getting cleared for you. Does it look correct in the preview on the export dialog? Does it work as expected if you use a solid background color?

Can you try exporting with the 4.0 beta and see if that works better for you? Be careful not to save your project unless you are ready to move to the beta:
