We feel Spine provides enormous value, especially considering you pay only once but get ALL future updates. We continually improve Spine and release many updates. Comparing the price of the operating system isn't reasonable because every computer needs an OS while Spine has a very small market. If you do not agree Spine is worth the cost, simply do not use or purchase Spine.
You keep claiming our service is poor, but this is simply not true. We receive many hundreds of emails each week and we have a whole team of people responding to emails and forum posts. We respond quickly and work very hard to help everyone and solve their problems, and at the same time we are still improving Spine.
By poor service do you mean that Spine does not function correctly for you? If you find a problem with Spine and let us know then we will fix it, often the very same day. However, I am afraid that the problem you have encountered is with your network and out of Spine's control. Spine needs to communicate with the server to download updates and start the trial. You have downloaded the update successfully but Spine is unable to reach the server to start the trial. Downloading the update is much more data than submitting your email address to start the trial, so you are very close.
You can look in the spine.log
file to see any error messages that might be there:
Windows: <user home folder>\SpineTrial\spine.log
Mac: <user home folder>/Library/Application Support/SpineTrial/spine.log
Linux: <user home folder>/.spinetrial/spine.log
I expect the error is "unknown host", meaning that esotericsoftware.com
could not be resolved, but it's worth checking just in case there is something else useful. Please feel free to post your spine.log
here for review.
