Hello! I'm very new to spine (just started yesterday) so my questions will probably seem very rudimentary. 😛
I am just hoping to practice basic movement at this point, so I drew up a simple character to practice with. I've been trying to add bones to her and am having a couple questions I'd hope someone may be able to help me with . 🙂
(I've attached the images of character and character broken into pieces)
:coffee: With her arm/legs/braids, would it be better to separate them at the joints (so 3 drawings 1. upper arm 2. lower arm 3. hand) or just one image that you create 3 bones for? Currently I tried the one image separated into three bones and created mesh to bend the arms. I had trouble with the arm pinching and warping during animation, is this preventable? 🙂
When I make two bones for the arm and parent them to the arm, The upper arm bone moves the arm image, but the lower arm bone just moves the bone and doesn't seem attached to the arm image. Is bending the arm image not possible only with bones?
:coffee: Would you separate each movable asset or use the mesh to warp movement? (like the little tuffs of hair on the bangs or fingers?) Is separating her upper body into threes unnecessary? (neck, chest, bottom shirt. Also cape on a separate level)
I have a million questions but my mind is drawing a blank right now so I think i'll leave it at that! I'm loving Spine and really want to learn the program, but i'm not very tech savvy and feel a bit overwhelmed in a new program. I guess another question is are there any introductory tutorials or videos you could throw my way? 🙂 Is it ok to ask a lot of basic questions here? Maybe there's a course through esoteric? 😮 Sorry for all the questions again!
