  • Weights bugs?

Hello,

Let me ask about the weights feature here. I tried to make solid 3D feeling on my character with mesh animation. I made a bone outside the mesh("body_control" bone) to simple control of view, but calculating was failed. So I tried to bind it later and add a force influence, but it works so incorrectly. When I added the weight value, previous weight status of vertices messed up. Please check the video I attached. Any thoughts and advice will be appreciated.

Weight setting with two bones inside the mesh(correct)

Binded "body_control" bone additionally and trying to add influences for 3D feeling

Added influence by 2 but mesh weight status messed up(incorrect)

That's really cool art!

I guess the bug is that those verts that were mostly had BLUE weights suddenly became mostly YELLOW by just setting the RED weight to 2%?
Thanks for reporting.

If you could share this Spine project with us, it would really help debug the problem.
You don't need to send the images. Blacked out images would be fine if you're concerned about copyright. contact@esotericsoftware.com

Also, which Spine version is this?

Thank you for quick reply Pharan!!

I'll zip my project and send you after black out all the images.
And I'm using Spine v3.6.38 because of my team's environment setting. FYI

Thanks!!!

Hey! We can't seem to produce the bug with the simplified skeleton you sent.
By removing the other attachments, you may have removed the bug case. It also looks like the pies already have the 2% assigned.
It's hard to tell what caused it here.

Also, has your team tried updating to 3.6.52? The bug might have already been previously fixed.
The jump from 3.6.38 to 3.6.52 shouldn't cause any compatibility problems. Of course, as usual, keep backups of your files.

If this did not fix the problem and is causing you problems, do let us know!

Hi Pharan, Thank you for your kind survey and support.

I updated the Spine editor to 3.6.52 as your advice and the problem solved. Thank you so much!!

That's good to know! Thanks for letting us know.
